Dragon Age Origin PC Strategy Game
The first thought that crossed my mind after seeing a cinematic video about Dragon Age: Origin was that I see yet another deceiving high quality video about a rather dull strategy game. This was not the case with Dragon Age: Origin.
Dragon Age: Origin is one of those PC games not meant to be played by children. It is a game that is about dragon slaying and saving beautiful princesses. You will battle with ferocious and legendary monsters but at the same time you might encounter a lot of adult content such as nudity, love scenes among characters regardless of gender and races. You need a lot of patience with this game, because it has a big plot to follow. Every time your character meets another, it must interact and respond to a set of predefined lines. The conversation that takes place can take surprising turns depending on the options chosen by the player. Every player can choose from a list of lines to respond and to react to. Claudia Black does the voice of Morrigan which is one of the main characters of the game. This game is done by a large amount of voice acting by Stephane Cornicard, Steve Valentine, Kate Mulgrew, Tim Curry and many others. This game has a lot to offer. During game play I found myself many times plunging into the plot trying to figure out the next next event that was.
The graphics is at least OK for a modern game. Even when I have set up the graphic options to the maximum I can't stop noticing the polygons that shape the environment. Anyway it takes a keen eye to notice it. People who are not used with this technical detail will enjoy the game as it is.
The good part for extreme gamers is that even the PC version has achievements to unlock. My overall feeling after playing it for a while was that I can create a movie with my own ending. The choices I make during the game can influence the final aspect of this game.
I could choose from three character classes such as rogue, mage and warrior. These classes can be upgraded into a more specialized class depending to the initial class. The warrior class can be upgraded to a Templar or a berserker. The Mage class can be upgraded into a spirit healer or a shape shifter.
The versatility of zoom control can help anyone be a film director. The main purpose of zooming in is to help you better see the action that takes place. The battle in the game is quite thrilling. Whenever a battle takes place you need to cleverly use the skills of your character to be able to defeat your opponent or the monster that you encounter.
